OBAMA SHUTS DOWN GITMO

President Obama has signed an executive order to close down the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba within a year. This is a positive and necessary first step, however, as an executive order it can be reversed by a future president. Thus, legislation is needed to secure the closure of Gitmo and the legality of interrogation techniques.
